Hanalei Ahn and his partners, Johnthan Kamai, and Adamm Bird lead The So Stoked Boogie
Series, a bodyboarding event that brings together athletes of all ages and genders in a
welcoming, inclusive environment. As dedicated fathers whose sons compete on the world
bodyboarding tour, their commitment to the sport is evident in every contest they organize.
Under their guidance, the series fosters a love for the ocean and a commitment to shoreline
restoration, instilling a sense of pride and environmental responsibility among participants.

Chris & Pomai Burkart & Jeff Hubbard, Co-Founders of Kaikeha
The Burkarts and Jeff Hubbard, natives of Kaua‘i, founded Kaikeha, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on nurturing Hawaii’s youth in water sports. The Burkarts, known fortheir aloha spirit and competitive drive, and Jeff, a three-time IBA World Champion and five-time IBA Pipeline Champion, bring their deep expertise and passion for bodyboarding to everyKaikeha event. Together, they inspire young athletes to build skills, develop discipline, andfoster a lifelong connection to the ocean, carrying forward Hawaii’s tradition of excellence inwater sports.

Carol Philips, Community Liaison & Founder of North Shore Surf Girls
Carol Philips, a professional bodyboarder and trailblazer for women in the sport, founded
North Shore Surf Girls to share the joy of surfing and bodyboarding with others. In 1990, she
organized the first women’s bodyboarding contest at Pipeline, setting a standard for inclusion
and empowerment in the sport. With over 30 years of experience, Carol serves as our
community liaison, leveraging her relationships on the North Shore to create meaningful
partnerships and promote Hawaiian cultural values.
